NDP2010 NE Show 2 Fireworks: Photos and Tips

On last Saturday, I went out with Marshall and Elfred for the NDP2010 NE2 fireworks photography at Marina Bay area. This was just a NDP rehearsal, officials said the fireworks on NE is just 10% of the total fireworks to be set off on actual day. Too bad NDP that day, we will be at Cameron Highlands.
In the next few following weeks, there will be still fireworks. So don’t miss it.

We set up our tripod and camera in front Esplanade around 7:45pm. The first fireworks was quite short, just a few bursts. Turn out that we were consider too near to the fireworks! Above photo I managed to get the Marina Sands inside, but the firework was cropped.
At the same spot, after slightly angle adjustment to my camera and we had waited another half an hour. Finally, the final round fireworks started. It was a 3-minutes long fireworks. Hm.. Imagine the actual NDP will have a 30 minutes long fireworks show.
Karon View Point

Phuket is the Thailand’s largest island. It is at a little over 48km in length and 15km at its widest point.
Just after we passed the 2 beaches, further along the road up to the hill. We reached the majestic viewpoint – Karon View Point. From here, the view extends from the northern reaches from Karon to the Phromthep Cape.

At first day, we stayed on the Phuket main island. We rented a car and drive around Phuket that day. The rental fee including GPS was around 1800baht. We rented the vehicle right at the hotel tourist counter. The counter opens at 7am~8pm.
GPS is one of the best invention in recent years for car drivers. You will never get lost with it. My iPhone GPS was totally screwed without data roaming.
Canon EOS 550D Jackie Chan Edition

Canon China announced a Jackie Chan edition EOS 550D. An obvious different from the standard 550D is the camera body, it comes with a Chinese word - “龙â€(dragon) in golden colour at the top. Apart from that, the kit comes with the Jackie Chan edition green leather case, album book and strap.
The retail price is RMB 10,000. Wow, that is much more than standard kit. How many people will really get this edition?
KL Morning Street Stroll

We didn’t have an exact destination to go after breakfast, so we started to stroll around Petaling Street, Jalan Raja and Jalan Tun Perak. The street was just getting busy but it was still not over-crowded yet.
Singapore Entertainment Awards 2010 新加坡e乐大赏2010

Thanks omy.sg for a pair of free tickets to Singapore Entertainment Awards 2010 on last Saturday. At the last minute we set off to Marina Bay Float for the event, the weather still didn’t look good.
Fortunately, there wasn’t any heavy rain.
Supporters of 梁文音 dressed in conspicuous pink and prepared plenty pink balloons.
Malacca Museum of History & Ethnography

There are several museums around A Famosa. We didn’t have enough time for all, so for one, definitely is the Museum of History & Ethnography at Stadthuys. You won’t miss it, It was located just right next to the Dutch Square.
The entrance fee for the museum was RM8. The museum was really big and filled up with a lot artifacts. This already made this trip worth the visit.
Later of the day, we found out that there was an unattended back gate. Others could just simply enter from there and skip the entrance fee.
Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II with Tsukasa

I got my Canon EF 50mm f1.8II before the Christmas from Bargain City. They had a promotion on the 50mm lens for SGD$109 and additional $5 for home delivery. I bet that was the last lens, the next day after my order the price has gone back to SGD$149.

Interesting post from Hadouken! 14 Street Fighter Poses IRL. By using longer shuttle speed, flashlight and color LED light to achieve these special effects.
I should try out some of these interesting effects with my friends.
New Year Eve – Chocolates and Figurines

While all Singaporean flocked down to the city to join the countdown party and watch fireworks, I celebrated my New Year eve with my figurines.
My girlfriend and friends all abandoned me went back to Malaysia. Tiu~ sound like my unfortunate life started first day of 2010.
