People often visits Thailand should have known that “Wat” means “Temple” in Thai. After viewing the beautiful scenery at Karon View Point, we headed towards the Phuket largest temple – Wat Chalong.

With the help of GPS again, driving to our next destination in Phuket is not that difficult.

We reached there in the afternoon, the sun was right above us. Wat Chalong is located 8km away from the Phuket Town. So even taking taxi, it is very convenient too.

The Pagoda of Wat Chalong (Phramahathat Chedi) is the most prominent building at the Wat Chalong was built in 1998. Wat Chalong was first established in 1837 during the reign of King Rama II (1809-1842). After that it has later relocated and several times of renovation.

Wat Chalong consists of a number of Buddhist buildings (vihara, ubosot, monthop) and halls (sala).

The architecture design of the temple is very typical Thai temple type. It is the same to those I saw before in Bangkok.

At the temple not only flooded with tourists, we saw quite a number of Thai came for praying on weekend.
